2/29/24
He showed a fluid left-handed swing with good strength by pulling an up and away fastball just to the right of center field for an RBI double as a pinch-hitter during Friday’s opener against Arkansas. The next day he was inserted into the middle of the lineup, where he stayed all weekend, going 4-for-8 with two RBIs. After producing just a .188 batting average as a freshman last season, Macias has the look of a breakout star in 2024.
3/24/22

PBR Super 60 player, 2022 SS Dallas Macias (Oregon St. commit), started his year off with a bomb. Macias turned around a 91mph FB to dead centerfield. Macias demonstrates explosive quick and strong hands from both sides of the plate. One of Colorado’s top prospects has continued to improve throughout his HS career.

2/06/22

Dallas fits right in amongst the nations top draft prospects. At 6-foot, 190-pounds, he has added noticeable strength. As a right-handed hitter, he has a parallel stance with a high leg-kick to stride and rhythmic load. His hands have an attacking, explosive and direct path to the ball (Max Blast Motion hand speed of 24.7). Macias uses a strong lower half for great rotational acceleration(Blast Motion average of 14.5). He used a middle of the field approach and had a confident, comfortable demeanor.

From the left side he uses a slightly open stance and the stride has linear movement while the hands stay back as Dallas gets to a strong launch position. He has plus hand speed and repeatable line drive consistency and path. Macias had the fourth best average bat speed at the event and has the ability to keep the hands inside on the fastball in. I see both sides of the plate as a strength for Dallas.

Defensively, he shows the ability to play a middle infield position with quick twitch movements and reactions. The Regis Jesuit shortstop shows strong pivot and feed skillset with arm velo of 85mph. Ran a 6.94 60-yard dash and demonstrates athleticism and strong feel for the game. Dallas is considered one of the top football athletes and also one of the top baseball prospects in the State of Colorado.

11/01/21

The Oregon State commit just stands out! 6-foot, 190-pound has sought the national competition and found success. Utilizing every bit of talent, he is a switch hitter and continues to pitch. He demonstrates great balance and timing from both sides of the plate. His athleticism as a SS provides range and plus footwork. This Regis Jesuit/USA Prime player has continued to show an obsession for improvement. An exciting overall toolset from Macias and it will be exciting to see just how far he can take his game in his senior season.

1/27/19

Uncommitted 2022, Macias has a chance to really become an offensive force. Swing mirrors itself from the right and left side. Hands are high in the zone and he uses a quick stride to trigger the swing. Shows good weight transfer and drives the baseball. Strong, athletic build. Macias has good arm speed coming forward, as evident with his 85 mph fastball that touched 86, and their is not much effort to gain velocity. Still growing, Macias swings a little to balance point, but lands inline towards mound squared to the plate. Had good fastball command, and was down in the zone with all three pitches. Better command to the glove side part of the plate. Curveball still developing at 62-63 mph which is a lot of deviance from fastball. Had better feel with his change up at 70-73 mph. He will learn to command secondary pitches, and has a lot of room to grow. Can't ignore 86 mph fastball at his age. In the field he fields the ball out front with soft quick hands. Good lateral movement to both sides. Strong arm across the diamond at 81 mph. Ran a simulated dry-swing home to first at 4.38. Very good athlete.

8/04/18

5-foot-10, 155-pound switch hitting SS/RHP who ran a 7.60 60. Swing mirrors itself from the right and left side.  Hands are high in the zone and he uses a quick stride to trigger the swing.  Shows good weight transfer and drives the baseball.  From the right side he had an 80 mph exit velocity and was 81 mph from the left side.  Defensively he plays fast and aggressive.  Attacks the ball with a quick glove to hand transfer.  Arm plays at 78 across the diamond.  On the mound is arm is live for a 2022.  Fastball sat 78-81 mph with run.  Drop and drive pitcher with good extension.  Also showcased a 59-60 mph curve with late 11/5 break.
