A right-handed pitcher, smooth repeatable delivery, a 3 pitch mixer. The arm works from a natural slot, gets a ton of run and sink on his 84 mph fastball, plays harder. Put hitters away with both curveball/changeup combination. Love the tempo and feel he works at on the mound. High pitch-ability, loves his craft.
3/17/21
6-foot, 160-pound athletic, lean, long arms and limbs, with plenty of room for added weight gains. Athletic on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle and a very quick arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has a strong balance point and in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 83-84 mph and topped out at 86 mph; has very consistent control and sinking action with heavy movement. His changeup 77-78 mph; has fading action and very consistent control. Has a 2/8 slider 73-74 mph; that shows command low in the zone and swing and miss action. Love the feel he has for his pitches, commands the zone, can get you out multiple ways. Look for the velocity to jump again at some point.
2/27/21
6-foot, 160-pound lanky frame. Above average on the mound, showed above average arm speed, he had a ¾ arm angle and a short arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed tall balance point within line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 81-83 mph; throws a heavy fastball with sinking action and very consistent command. Had swing and miss action and control low in the zone on his 1/7 curveball 71-73 mph. Threw a sharp changeup 77-78 mph with arm side control and fading action. One of the better arms in the class of 2023, absolutely pounds the zone with a three pitch mix.
8/02/20
6-foot, 150-pound, thinner, athletic frame, sloped shoulders, showing plenty of room for added weight gains and strength. A right-handed pitcher, a three pitch mixer. The delivery is super smooth and repeatable, easy athletic lift, builds momentum down the mound, is squared up on release of the baseball. The arm is clean on the backside, working form a 3/4 slot. The fastball touched 83 mph, located the baseball to both sides of the plate, look for a big jump in the next year with velocity. The breaking ball is thrown for strikes, thrown in the low 70's. Also throws an above average changeup, clocked at 75-76 mph, chance to be his top pitch at some point, arm side fade and action. Big follow, really likes his craft.
3/04/20
6-foot, 145-pound, thin, athletic frame, has added strength over the last 6 months, with room for added weight. A right-handed pitcher, pounds the zone, with a three pitch mix. The delivery is super controlled, stays over the rubber, builds momentum down the mound, serious feel for the body. The arm is clean, free and easy, working with minimal effort. The baseball comes through from a natural slot, gets good extension out front. The fastball touched 83 mph, sitting consistently at 81-82 mph. Located to both sides, arm side showing run, 4-seamer getting through the catcher. The breaking ball was clocked at 69 mph, late break, thrown for strikes, can be used as a put-away pitch as well. The changeup is advanced, clocked at 74-75 mph, comes out of the hand looking like a fastball, will be able to get both right-handed and left-handed hitters out with it. Once the strength and he adds more weight, velocity should build, has been groomed well.
2/22/20
6-foot-145-pound, thin, wiry strong athletic frame. Sloped shoulders, has room for future development. A right-handed pitcher, pounds the zone with a three pitch mix. The delivery is sound, compact and repeats it with ease. The hands start at the mid section, slight movement up with his smooth athletic leg lift, getting to a strong gather. The direction is inline to the plate, with longer proper stride length. The arm circle is super clean, working out of a natural 3/4 slot. The fastball is located down in the zone, pitches to both sides of the plate. Two-seamer has average arm side run to it, clocked at 79-81 mph. Throws two plus secondary pitches for his age, changeup has natural arm side fade, showing very good hand speed, clocked at 72-75 mph. Works off the fastball, sells it well. The curveball, clocked at 67-70 mph, good hand speed, with velocity, has tilt with depth, more top to bottom break. The pitch ability is very high, will need to add weight, look for him to be one of the better arms in the class of 2023.
2/23/19
5-foot-10, 138-pound, long, len athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out. A two-way player, projects off the mound for me. The arm action is clean and whippy from the side view, gets extension out front, works out of a ¾ slot. The frontside is inline, tracts correct to the plate. The fastball reached, 73 mph, has life to it, with action to arm side. The breaking ball is advanced for his age, clocked at 61 mph, proper spin with late break to it. Showed feel for the changeup at 64-65 mph. At the plate, hits from the right side, starts open at shoulder width. The hands are super relaxed, bat starts in more of a flat position on back shoulder. Stride has some length to it, weight leaks forward at times. The swing is level, finishing it at the shoulders. The approach is more middle to pull, had a tee exit velocity of 71 mph. Defensively, clean quick feet around the bag at first, hands are soft on picks, soft hands on ground balls. Showed good drop steps in starting the double play. The arm is clean, working out of a ¾ slot, clocked at 70 mph. Love the feel for pitching, velocity should jump at some point, big follow for me, will be attending junior futures for team CT/RI.
