2021 MLB Draft: Batting over .300 most of the season before some late season scuffles, the powerfully-built middle-of-the-diamond prospect still finished with a .276/.375/.516 slash while belting 13 home runs and stealing 12 bases. At 6-foot-1, 215 pounds Allen is a well-rounded player who makes the most of his speed thanks to good old fashioned hustle and strong baseball instincts. He has plus raw power and can use the whole field, while showing enough range to stick in center.
2/17/18- South Carolina recruit. As mentioned, Allen is a very physical bodied player. He has a lot of present strength and uses that strength well in his swing. He had two hard hit balls foul and showed power in batting practice. The velocity was a bit down on the mound, but overall he is going to be a very impactful two-way player at the next level.
10/15/17- South Carolina recruit. Physical build and has a strong lower half. Offensively, the right handed hitter uses his strength well. Balanced lower half. Short swing, had two singles in the game play. Fastball sat 87-89 mph, touching 90 along with a 71-73 mph curveball with shape. There is a lot of tools and will be a very useful player at South Carolina.
07/11/17- Committed to the University of South Carolina.
04/28/17- USF recruit. Allen has clearly continued to become more physical and has shown up offensively. He has created some easy power from the right-hand side with a feel for the barrel. On the mound, he has a somewhat long arm action and throws from a high 3/4 slot. He struggled a bit with fastball command, but worked 87-88 mph with some late life. He showed a feel for an above average curveball with depth at 74-76 mph.
10/23/16- South Florida recruit. Strong, solid build on a 6-foot-1, 200 pound frame. Balanced and comfortable in the box while displaying a short, quick swing. Tripled into the right/center field gap during the game.
10/08/16- USF commit, the OF/LHP continues to hit the ball consistently hard. He has a strong lower half and above average bat speed. He has also shown to be very good on the mound and projects to be a middle of the order bat and be able to pitch at the next level.
4/8/16- South Florida commit who stands at 6-foot, 185 pounds with a physical, strong, and athletic body. At the plate he is quiet and relaxed with a simple approach. Has a small leg kick for his stride and a short, quick swing. Line drive approach and he looks like an above average runner. He covers ground well in the outfield and has an above average arm.
9/15/15- Allen is a talented two way prospect that sits 84-86 FB and has been up to 87mph. FB shows movement along with a CB with good depth and spin. Pounds the strike zone. Short, quick swing from the RH side. Makes contact often and drives the ball up the middle. USF commit
8/5/15- Committed to USF
