10/12/18 - 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed catcher. Defensive first catcher, above average receiver, good ability to block the ball and move laterally in the crouch, strong arm, recorded pop times 2.01-2.08. Offensively, athletic crouching stance, compact swing, simple approach, looks to stay inside and drive the ball. Recorded a single in first at-bat. Immediate value behind the dish.
2/17/18- The uncommitted catcher stood out defensively over the two days. He shows above average receiving ability and an above average arm. He consistently had pop times in the 1.85-2.0 range. The bat will need to make some strides, but there is present strength and potential there. He will be a very solid late add for a program looking for a defense first catcher.
