Has really leaned out since high school. Swing still plays, has the ability to turn the barrel and stay in the zone. Six hits and four RBIs on the weekend. 

03/29/18- FIU recruit. Strong lower half. He continued to square up the ball when he drove a pitch right back up the middle for an RBI single late in the game. Useche has consistently shown the ability to drive the ball back up the middle with a feel for the barrel.

03/27/18- FIU recruit. Solid frame with a strong lower half. Creates hard contact at the plate with a feel for the barrel, looking to drive the ball with authority. Solid defender behind the plate. Went 1-for-2.

02/20/18- FIU recruit. The broad shoulder, thick bodied catcher shows above average defensive tools. Pop times in the 1.95-2.1 range and will be a solid defender. Offensively, there is resent bat seed and power and that showed in the home run in his final at-bat .

01/07/18- Florida International recruit. Stands at 6-foot, 200 pounds with a catcher’s build and strong lower half. Strong wrists and hands. Starts from a wide base and a higher hand set with above average bat speed. Showed barrel control with strength in his swing with pull side power during batting practice. Behind the plate he gets in a quality position with accurate throws to the bag that topped out at 78 mph.
