8/13/16- 6-foot-4, 180 pounder with a lanky, projectable frame. The velocity was not where we have seen in in the past with his fastball ranging from 86-88 mph. The arm action is still clean and easy and as he continues to learn to get extension and not cut the baseball the fastball velocity should become more consistent, if not make a jump as well. The slider ranged from 76-77 mph with tilt and better spin with the changeup sitting at 74 mph with some feel for the pitch.
8/6/16- Consistently 86-88 mph with his fastball that showed arm side life. He also showed a good feel for his secondary stuff with his slider 68-70 and the changeup ranging from 70-72. At 6-foot-4 180 pounds he showed a clean, easy repeatable delivery. When he gets fully extended the fastball has late life, the slider has good late biting action and the change up becomes an above average pitch. He had two clean innings, striking out two and inducing multiple ground balls in his two appearances showing a feel for pitching with room to continue to clean a few things up, fill out and make another jump.
07/08/16- 6-foot-4, 180 pounds with a projectable build along with clean, easy arm action with a fastball ranging from 86-88 mph. His slider is 75 mph with a good shape. Will continue to get better as he fills out and learns how to use his lower half.
2/2/16- Tall, lean, and long frame. Loose, quick arm and everything stays in line. Easy with a long arm action in the back. H 3/4 arm slot and 83-86 mph with run. 76 mph CB and 80 mph SL.
12/10/15- 6-foot-3, 180-pounder who is an athletic, projectable two-way player. Showcased a strong arm with carry and accuracy at 88 mph from the outfield. At the plate, Daniels impressed as well as he consistently made solid contact and sprayed hard line drives into the outfield. Also ran a 7.28-second 60. Has been up to 87 mph on the mound.
12/5/15 - is 6-foot-3, 180 pounds with a tall loose lean athletic projectable body. A very good looking young pitchers body. He has a loose easy working arm at a high ¾ arm slot. In two innings of work, Nic showed a fastball that was downhill at 84-87 mph. The curveball was a big loopy down breaker at 70-71 mph. The slider was his best pitch which was a short tight ¾ breaker with good depth at 76-78 mph. It has the potential to be a swing and miss pitch. His release was a bit inconsistent and would occasionally pull off-line, but for the most part he threw a lot of strikes. Nic’s velocity has jumped up a bit this Fall and is now starting to get in that upper 80’s range where college recruiters are starting to notice. As he continues to get stronger, his breaking stuff will also improve with added velocity.
8/22/15- Nic gathered himself and repeats well on the mound. Flashed an 81-83 FB w/ some late life, bumped an 84. Projectable.
4/8/15 - 6-foot-3 170 pounds with a tall, lean, and projectable body. Loose, easy arm and motion. High ¾ arm slot. Arm goes straight back after he breaks and he cuts himself off slightly when he lands. 80-83 mph FB. 74-76 mph tight SL that breaks late. 70-74 mph CR with good depth and is sharp. Has control over all three pitches, especially the curve. Velocity will increase with strength and maturity.
