5/21/16- South Carolina recruit, currently ranked No. 22 in Florida’s 2017 class, No. 59 overall. 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame, wiry-athletic build. Loose, quick, athletic arm, high-3/4 slot, works free and easily. Balanced, athletic delivery, stays in-line, maintains rhythm and tempo throughout; repeats well, consistent strike-thrower. Knows how to manipulate the baseball. Fastball sat 89-90 from windup and stretch. Two-seamer flashed late arm-side sink. Throws curveball with confidence, in 71-72 range, advanced feel for pitch; sharp, late break at times. Also occasionally flashed low-80s changeup. Excellent overall pitchability and mound presence.
1/17/15 Florida Preseason ID Showcase - Thick strong athletic frame. H¾ arm slot with a no wind up delivery. Arm is loose and works fairly easy. Fluid delivery with good rhythm that he repeated. Stays over the rubber and gets good extension out front. Fastball velocity was 83-86 mph. Curveball was 71-72 mph and is a ¾ breaker that flashed good rotation with depth when he gets on top, and could be his best pitch with more consistency. Usable changeup with good arm speed. It will improve with reps. Very good feel for pitching. Threw a lot of strikes. Shane showed arm strength along with the ability to spin breaking ball. One of the better pitchers at the workout.
