5/28/16- Louisiana State commit who stands at 6-foot-5, 205 pounds with a tall, lean, athletic, and projectable body. He is ranked 16th in Florida and 73rd overall. Peterson had a very good final showing before the draft as he was sitting 92-95 mph and touching 94-95 a lot. His curveball was fringy but it had decent shape and he was throwing it for strikes at 80-82 mph. His fastball had late life and was causing a lot of swing and misses. Most importantly, his velocity was back where it needs to be heading into next week’s draft.

2/26/16 - Louisiana recruit. 6-foot-5, 205 pound right hander with a tall thick durable body. Body has trimmed down some and looks much improved. Loose live arm at an over hand to high ¾ arm slot. On this cold night, his velocity was down a bit. Fast ball was 84-88 mph with some down tilt when he worked out front. Deep in back, lands in line, inconsistent out front. Struggled with fast ball command. Curve ball was a soft ¾ roller at 67-71 mph. It had good rotation when he worked out front. Change up was 77-78 mph and didn’t use it much. Guided it a bit. Will be a better pitch with reps. Competed well but I have seen him much better.

6/19/15 - Louisiana St commit. 6-foot-5, 205 pound right hander with a big strong pitchers body with thick strong hips and thighs. Loose quick arm at a high ¾ slot and a fluid delivery. Fast ball had some life at 87-90 mph with good down tilt. Curve ball was 71-74 mph and flashed ML average with a downward rotation and occasional depth. I’ve seen better velocity in the past. Battled injury this past Spring. Power arm with a durable body.

2/2/15 - Big tall body with thick hips and strength in lower half. Loose easy working arm with fluid delivery. In line. Good arm speed. FB sat 88-91 mph with good tilt. CV was 74-77 mph with 3/4 tilt, it occasionally flashed ML avg. Gave up 3 hits 0 walks and 5 K's and 0 runs in 3 innings of work.

1/10/15 - Scorpions tryout - Ideal pitchers frame. Fair overall athlete. Tall, big bodied kid with good overall strength. Fairly smooth delivery. He throws from a H¾ slot with a loose arm action. His fastball bumps 93, but mostly 87-90 with a short tail and occasion sink when down in zone. The fastball was around the plate but he lacks command of the pitch now. He flashed a tight ¾ tilt curveball with lots of depth. Showed feel for a fading changeup. Overall, this kid has good size and arm strength. Solid ML average velocity in short outing. His curveball and change have a ways to go. He was around the zone with all three pitches. This kid should be one of the top high school right hand pitchers in Florida. Will be a 2016 draft.

3/22/19: Tall, extra large framed reliever with arm strength from a high three-quarter slot. Lands open with his delivery. Gets to his velocity fairly easily. Entered Saturday's game against Georgia in the 8th inning of a 0-0 game with runners on first and second base with one out. Stuck mostly with his 92-95 mph heater with an occasional average 11/5 breaking ball. (Seifert)
