6/23/18

Lean, athletic frame standing at 5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Offensively, he starts with weight on the backside. A simple leg lift trigger, the swing stays compact. Stayed on the barrel consistently from gap to gap in BP. Translated into gameplay where he drove a ball deep into the left-center field gap. Defensively, he showed accurate throws with carry to home from the outfield. On the mound he worked 78-80 mph with a compact high 3/4 arm action. Also showed a 69-70 mph curveball. There is present physicality and stood out with the bat as he put together quality at-bats, staying on the barrel.

6/28/17

Quick twitch, athletic catcher with strength for his age. Behind the plate he was around the bag with a 2.2 pop time. Occasionally would see his arm will lag behind and have to catch up which caused some inaccuracy. Offensively, Wesley’s hands were quick to the ball but occasionally showed a steep swing. On the mound his athletic frame and quick arm showed room for growth and velo jump. Sat 79-81 mph with his fastball and good command of the three pitches.

1/08/17

Stands at 5-foot-8, 135 pounds with a lean, wiry build. Starts his windup from the outside part of the rubber and throws from the ¾ arm slot with some deception in his delivery. Some inconsistency in his landing. Displayed a fastball that sat 74-77 mph along with a 69-72 mph curveball that had good depth and spin. At the plate he has good balance and hand eye coordination. Has a bit of a longer swing, but is on time and makes consistent contact with the ball. As he gets stronger, he will be able to drive the ball with more authority up the middle.
