A Tennessee Tech transfer, Roberts started at third base all three games of the series where he had just enough arm strength to get the job done, however arm accuracy is a concern due to his throwing mechanics. He will likely shift back to second base when Carrion returns. Offensively, he has a reputation of being able to get to any fastball with flashes of special hitting hands. He showed good balance, fair bat speed and a little length to his swing. He hunted the fastball early in the count and looked to have a middle of the field-to-oppo approach. Also a threat to steal some bases (17 in 28 attempts last season) he ran below average down the line to first base.

Cape Cod- Showed some pop in his bat with some length to his swing. The righthanded hitter also brings plus athleticism to the infield with quality defense up the middle. Last spring at Tech Roberts slashed .343/.375/.490 with 17 stolen bases. He followed that up this summer with a .305 average, two home runs and three stolen bases.
