2/24/19: Medium framed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, Thomas is a high pitchability lefty with a great feel. Repeats an athletic delivery with a full arm path to a three-quarter slot. He's a coach's dream; works quick, competes, holds runners, quick to the plate, mixes pitches and throws strikes with all of them. Fastball peaked at 89, sitting 86-88 mph. Best pitch on this look was slider/cutter at 79-83 mph. Varied shape and expanded at will. Pitch played above average. Also mixed in a 79 mph changeup which was average on this day, but I saw it better last spring against Florida State. (Seifert)
4-10-2018: Saturday’s starting pitcher was sophomore lefty Connor Thomas. He battled FSU for nine innings with an 85-87 mph fastball, a sharp 79-80 mph slurve which he kept down in the zone and a plus 79-81 mph changeup which got better as the game went along. He earned the win in his complete game effort allowing one run with eight strikeouts. For the season he has only walked five batters while striking out 55 in 51 innings pitched. (Seifert)
