Body: 6-1, 170-pounds. High waist, broad shoulders, long levers.
Delivery: ompact delivery and impressive arm speed. He really drove the ball downhill well and I was impressed with the balance throughout the delivery. Stacks back side in stride well. Good, powerful position at landing. Compact up+down+out phases.
Arm Action: RH. Compact, short circle 3/4 slot with near perfect efficiency. Quick, quick arm.
FB: T84.8, 83-84 mph. Aggressive bore in on RHH T2148, 2074 average rpm.
CB: 72-75 mph. Some vertical shape, gyro profile. T2098, 2048 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Fade & depth. T1610, 1495 average rpm.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-1, 170-pounds. High waist, broad shoulders, long levers.
Hits: RHH. Strong, athletic base with optimal balance. Good rhythm between hips & hands, impressive feel for separation timing. Short, direct path.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 77.7 MPH. 288' max distance. Back spin line drives to both gaps.
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph.Short circle arm action from L3/4 slot. gets ball out quick.
Defense: Plays low to ground with very good balance and quick feet. Sure hands with quick exchange.
Run: 7.13 runner in the 60.
GA Preseason All State
Hodge stood out athletically, with a compact delivery and impressive arm speed. He really drove the ball downhill well and I was impressed with the balance throughout the delivery. His FB worked in the 84-87 range with steep plane and pretty violent run at times. His offspeed stuff was hit or miss, but look for his FB to garner some college interest this spring, as it will undoubtedly tick up.
Fall Underclass Trials
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-foot-10, 145-pounds. Lean, lanky frame, high waist, plenty of growth left to do.
Delivery: Tall and fall, stays tall on his back side, works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, quick hand speed, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T75, 70-74 mph. Plays mostly straight. flashed sink.
CB: 60-65 mph. 12/6 shape, some bite low in the zone.
CH: 63-66 mph. Sinking action.
