7/15/22

2022 MLB Draft LeagueArkansas signee; One of the hottest hitters down the first-half stretch, Coll generates consistent 99-103 EVs with a line-drive swing and up-the-middle approach. He shows power potential to the big parts of the field and hit several home runs during his final week in the League. Defensively, Coll is equal parts smooth and creative as a shortstop, showing a dependable hands, good footwork and a strong arm.

12/31/21

Coll, a former Super 60 participant, checked in as PBR's No. 255 Draft prospect in 2020 before raking at a .341/.440/.445 clip with 13 extra-base hits and 11 steals as a San Jac freshman in '21. He continued to hit over the summer for Battle Creek in the Northwoods League, slashing .338/.410/.432 in 21 games, then opened even more eyes by homering to both fields this past fall during the Texas-New Mexico JC All-Star game. Coll earns high marks for his defensive ability as a shortstop, showing athleticism, quick hands and feet, and plus arm strength that generates throws up to 97 mph across the diamond. He's just as dynamic at the plate, combining plus bat speed and line-to-line raw power with a short, compact swing. The Arkansas commit should hit for average and power at the next level, profiling as a well-rounded, complete player and Draft prospect.

2020 Super 60

Since standing out at the 2018 Future Games, Coll has added significant strength to his frame and moved from Massachusetts to Georgia. The strength gains showed in Chicago, where he blistered baseballs in batting practice, averaging a 94 mph exit velocity and topping out at 100.6, while keeping his swing compact and simple. He ran a 6.81-second 60-yard dash and tied an event record by throwing 97 across the infield. His athletic actions stood out on defense, where he charged a ball and made an exchange between his legs while on the move. He is committed to North Carolina.

2/09/19

5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. Continues to flash above average defensive skills, throwing 91 mph across the diamond with an easy arm action. The foot work is solid and he moves laterally well. The ability to stay at shortstop is present. The foot speed is 7.05 and will hover around the 7.0 mark as he makes his way through college. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 92. The set up is wide in base, uses a knee to knee approach as the ball enters the hitting zone. The hands are clean and fluid through contact, gap to gap guy at the present time.

9/17/17

5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. The best 2020 defender I have seen in awhile. The glove and prep to and through the ball are advanced. Handles the pivot and can make the slow roller play. Threw 81 across the infield out of a short path and showed good accuracy. Defense is a no brainer for this guy. Ran a 4.3 down the line from the right-side. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 88 mph. Sets up with his feet even, and front foot slightly open. The hands are extremely quick and he maneuvers the barrel. The path is up a over a bit , as he gets to his front foot too soon but he showed the ability to consistently get the barrel there. Big time player from what I saw, should be able to play anywhere in the country defensively. Had two hits in the game.

2018 FUTURE GAMES

5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder Had a very good showing at the event. The skill set is very polished and the defense is excellent. The bat has really improved in the past 6 months. Ran a 7.04 sixty on the laser at the event. The glove and footwork through the ball is appropriate and he threw 90 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 90 mph as well. The set up is even in base, front foot slightly open to start. The front foot has a small pick up and put down as the ball approaches. The bottom half is under control. The hands work clean to the ball and the path is simple. Squared up a number of balls in the game, using the whole field as well. Shows good instincts on the bases.

PROCASE

5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Slick fielding athlete who threw 86 mph across the diamond out of quick release and good footwork through the ball. The glove is special. Ran a 7.12 sixty on the laser at the event. The foot speed is improving as he develops. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 85 mph. The setup is simple and he is under control throughout his swing. The hands work clean and his bat path is flat and clean. The usage of his hands are done well, adding physical strength will aid his offensive game. Big time prospect.
