HOUSTON, TX—Earlier this fall, we got a look at two of the local JUCO teams in Alvin CC and San Jac. Both teams had players that have skills for the now and players that have solid projectability. We’ll highlights the players who stood out to us most.

SAN JAC

SS Harold Coll (Georgia Premier Academy)- 2020 Super 60 participant, #6 in the PBR Juco rankings, is a premier defender at shortstop with really good range, clean quick actions and a strong arm. At the plate he has a quick, athletic swing that produced an exit velocity of 99 mph on a single back up the middle. Very fun player to watch play the game.

LHP Evan Hiatt (Little Rock, AR)- Committed to Kansas State. LHP with a short arm swing in the back, showed good command at the bottom of the zone, sitting 87-89. Flashed a sharp, swing-and-miss curveball that was 78-79. Also had a changeup that was 80-81.

LHP Hunter Hollan (Spring Hill, TX)- Long, lanky LHP from Spring Hill, TX. Showed good control of the strike zone with his fastball sitting 88-90 with a 71-74 curveball that he was able to land in the zone for a strike and flash sharp, swing-and-miss action. Lots of projectability as he grows into his 6-foot-5, 195-pound frame.

C Chase Adkison (Grangeville, ID/Boise State)- Oklahoma State commit. 6-foot, 200 pounds, quiet receiver behind the plate with good catch and throw skills. Projects as middle-of-the-order type hitter.

LHP Cole McMillan (Richmond, TX/Houston)- Washington State commit, #94 in PBR juco rankings. Another long, lanky LHP for San Jac. On this day his fastball was up to 91, sitting 89-90 flashing control at the bottom of the zone. Curveball was 79-80 with 10-4 shape, and good command to the glove side.

RHP Lex Garcia (Lubbock, TX)- 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with a clean, quick arm swing from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 90-92 with command at the bottom of the zone with a 81-84 slider that he was able to land in the strike zone and get swing and miss with.

UTL Sabin Ceballos (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico)- The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Puerto Rican native played both corner infield spots and also got an inning behind the plate. Ceballos has shown a strong arm each time I’ve seen him and showcased quick catch and throw skills for being new to catching  Very intriguing prospect to watch.

ALVIN

RHP Jorge Galindez (Spring Woods, TX)- Long arm swing from a high ¾ slot flashing arm-side run sitting 90-91 with control in the zone, curveball was 78 flashing tight spin and sharp action. Also flashed a changeup that was 85 flashing arm-side action.

IF Diego Davila (Klein, TX)- Showed a quick, athletic stroke at the plate with good ability to hit the inside pitch well and good ability to get on base as well.
