Kennesaw State Commit. The last few times we’ve seen McCollum, it has been impressive stuff that plays at a highly competitive level and today was more of the same. At 180 pounds and 6-foot-1, McCollum is a lanky athlete on the mound with an impressive, tight delivery that allows his pitches to reach into the 90s. Today his FB was feeling hot as he ran it from 88-91 with ASR. It was swing and miss often with the fastball as he attacked each hitter early with it. His CB continues to be the go-to as he managed multiple roll overs due to its sweep and drop (72-75). There certainly is M2C with his changeup as he keeps it as a 3rd option to ensure hitters don’t stay comfortable. As McCollum has another year in front of him before headed off to Kennesaw, it will be very enticing to see how high his floor can get.

With the 16u NPI championship on the line for the 643 Cougs. McCollum would toe the slab for the championship start and would be nothing short of impressive. Tossing 6.1 IP of 2-run ball in a win to bring home the back-to-back NPI title for the Cougs. An athletic mover on the mound with a loose arm ,Fastball sat 86-88 (T89 MPH) with the slider tunneling well off the fastball at 71-73 with sharp, late-depth. Changeup was worked in at 80-83. McCollum stands a lean and athletic 6-foot-0, 175-pounds with plenty of projection remaining in the frame/profile.
