Lane had a very impressive showing in the weekend round-robin featuring the likes of Jones County, Wayne County, & Jeff Davis. The growth from lane has been nothing short of remarkable. The Junior has sound mechanics with the ability to leave the yard. Timing mechanism is simple and repeatable as he found success on multiple pitches on multiple parts of the plate. The ability to match plane and use all fields is evident, and hands are quick enough for plus-velocity. Lane is on the verge of a breakout year both offensively and defensively. Lane on the weekend was 4-5, 2 1B, 2 HR, along with 5 RBI's for a red hot start to his junior season.

Uncommitted. Lane is a rock behind the plate. He does a really good job receiving and presenting the baseball. Strong leader with his pitchers and consistently gets himself into the right position before each pitch. He has a quality arm with clean exchanges and the ability to control the running game. He doesn’t take pitches off and is a vocal leader on and off the field. He’s also a great teammate who brings energy every day and competes for the guys around him.At the plate, he shows a good hit tool with pull-side power. He puts together quality ABs and has a solid two-strike approach with simple, repeatable actions in the box. Works gap to gap with some sneaky juice and the ability to impact the baseball when he gets his pitch. Good leader for Jones County and a strong athlete behind the dish.
