Short stride to the baseball, bat is short and compact through the zone with quick bat speed. Good extension in swing and makes contact out in front. Showed pull side pop and line drives to the gaps. Behind the dish showed to be a good receiver with good footwork and quick exchange on pops. Arm strength is above average for catcher at 80, throws showed accuracy with some carry, pops were 1.98-2.01 range.
10/15/17: 5-foot-9, 160 pound catcher displayed a strong arm and quick release in pop times. Throws topped 77 with accuracy . Quick feet, short arm swing into 3/4 release. Pop times ranged 1.90-1.97. Field commander behind the plate. Has the ability to play up the middle defensively as well. Above average glove work with quick release. Quick, choppy footwork. Plays through the ball. Hits from a balanced setup and smooth load. Has rhythm. Above average use of lower half, spins at times. Contact hitter, uses all fields. High exit velocity of 85mph.
