3/26/18 Spring Scout Blog: Houston commit did it all in the season opener, making defensive plays at shortstop and hitting a no doubter. pull side homerun. 6-foot-3, 190 pound senior is physical in the batters box and athletic at the shortstop position. Showed range side to side with fluid actions, good backhand play with plus arm strength to stay on the left side at the next level, bat projects SS/3B. Threw from multiple angles, good footwork and hands to field the​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ baseball. Finished 2-3 at the plate with a HR, drove a ball opposite field to the warning track into the wind for an out in first plate appearance. Consistent barrel all night, hits from tall athletic setup, plus bat speed with uphill path and lift to the baseball. Advanced approach at the plate. Runs well down the line with easy effort and long strides.

7/11/17: Houston recruit, currently ranked No. 373 overall, No. 18 in Indiana’s 2018 class. 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop, highly athletic frame, proportionally strong with wide shoulders and tapered waist. Ranges well for his size; if continues to fill into frame, may project more at third base. Soft, reliable hands, athletic arm action, accurate throws with carry, clocked at 89 mph across the infield. Offensively, hits from a tall, athletic base, high back elbow, steep plain, uphill path. Maintains balance through contact, generates above-average bat speed, registered 92 mph exit velocity with wood. Ran a 7.05 laser-timed 60.

6/20/17 East Coast Pro Showcase: 6-foot-3, 190-pound athletic body frame. Committed to playing at the University of Houston and ranked No. 18 overall in Indiana’s class of ‘18. Infielder ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Defensively has smooth, athletic footwork while playing through the baseball and fields ground balls with his hands out in front of his body. Has good enough arm strength to stay at the shortstop position at the next level and showed the ability to use different arm angles when needed. The Right-handed hitter has a good combination of bat speed/strength. Starts from an open stance and gets himself squared back up to even before he swings. Finishes with a two-handed follow through.

2/19/17: 
Athletic 6-foot-3, 185 pound frame. Offensively, athletic setup, short stride, good use of the lower half, maintains balance throughout the swing.  Showcased fast bat speed, long/uphill swing path, lifts the baseball.  Present gap power, registered a high exit velocity of 87 at the event.  Defensively, plays through the baseball, soft hands, fluid feet, good feel for the position.  Long, high ¾ arm action, throws topped out at 88 mph across the infield.  Ran a 7.10 in the laser-timed 60 yard dash.  Houston commit.

Oct. 2016: Solidly built infielder who displays good arm strength from shortstop.  Moves around well and is able to get to most balls to glove side and back hand.  At the plate, sets up with his hands next to his ear and back elbow up.  Athletic base with a slight crouch.  Hands trigger down and out which causes him to have a “scoop” to his swing.  Makes up for it with his athleticism, and keeps his hands inside the baseball well.

8/6/16 FUTURE GAMES: 6-foot-2, 185-pound infielder and right-handed pitcher, athletic build with proportional strength. Legitimate two-way prospect. Right-handed pitcher, fastball sat 85-87 with 64-67 curveball and 79 changeup. Short, quick, athletic arm, swinging gate delivery, consistent strikes. Also showed plus arm strength at shortstop and strength at the plate. 

6/21/16: 
The 6 foot 2 180 pound infielder ran a 6.98 60yd dash.  Offensively, he showcased some twitch with a long swing that gets to extension well.  Bat speed is fast.  At SS, Craig has good body control and movements.  Foot work can improve.  Hands are soft and arm strength is there.  On the mound, fastball sat 84-86 and topping 88 with late run.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape and topped at 68.  Change-up has good feel with some sink action.  Craig projects both with the bat and on the mound as of now.

6/5/2016: The 6-foot-2, 180 pounder's primary position is INF, but he showcased a live arm on the bump with fastballs topping out at 88-89, sitting more 85-86.  Breaking ball still more in the developmental stage. 

2/21/16:
6-foot-1, 185 pounder ran a 7.28-60. Defensively showcased clean actions with above average hands.  Footwork is fluid and plays through the baseball.  Long, loose high 3/4 arm action across the diamond at 86 with carry.  Offensively hits from a balanced setup, smooth load back.  Short stride.  Average use of his lower half.  Good balance.  Quick bat speed with a good approach to the ball.  Long, uphill swing path with power potential. Consistently barreled up the baseball during BP.  High exit velo of 92. PITCHING- Pitches from a loose, high 3/4 arm action with quick arm speed.  Works at a good pace with regular effort.  Falls towards 1B side at finish.  Fastball was thrown for a strike at 85-86, touching 87. Ball jumps on hitters quick.  Breaking ball shows an 11/5 shape with sharp action and thrown for a strike at 68-70.  CH was 76-78, straight action, and thrown for a strike.  

9/20/15:
PITCHING- 6-foot-1, 170 pound righty pitches from a high ¾ slot with above average speed.  Arm action is long.  Drop and drive delivery with regular effort.  Smooth rhythm.  Fastball was 82-84.  11/5 breaking ball shows gradual break at 63-65.  Change was thrown with near fastball arm speed with fade at 74-76.   

6/9/15:
The 6-foot 165 pound infielder ran a 7.3 60 yard dash.  Craig has athletic actions up the middle.  Glove is soft and footwork is fluid.  Plays thru the ball well.  Arm action is short and loose.  Infield velocity was 79mph.  Offensively, he produced an exit velocity of 87mph.  Setup is open with a small leg kick.  Bat speed is above average and path is uphill.
