Pitching: Drop and drive type delivery with easy effort. Smooth rhythm, in-line direction, lands closed; throws cross-body. Quick, 3/4 arm action with a stab on the backside.
FB: T87. 84-86 mph.
CB: 69-71 mph. 10/4 shape, slurvey action.
CH: 71-73 mph. Sink, and fade acion.
9/16/17 PBR Fall Championships: Morris had a mature outing as he showed advanced control of his fastball. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound freshman was up to 82 mph while repeating a simple delivery. His arm swing features a hook in the back, but it moves fast, and he shows quick hand speed out front. His curveball (67-68) took 10/4 shape, and he showed advanced feel for it, especially for his age. Morris threw the pitch for strike seemingly whenever he wanted and garnered multiple swings and misses. He remains linear down the mound, and shows almost no effort in delivering each pitch to the point that he looks bored. His fastball received multiple swings and misses, and will likely continue to get harder as he matures. Overall, Morris’ ability to control two pitches makes him a prospect to follow in coming years.
