Undersized southpaw listed at 5-foot-7, 170-pounds. Compact strength and athleticism present. Stretch-only mover with high effort; provides a unique look. Cuts a mid-80s fastball that ran up to 86.5 and it tunnels well with a shorter, low-80s slider that spun north of 2700 on average. Slurvey offering that he called a CB at 76-78, shaped more slurvey, also went north of 2700 on average. Sinker-like change at 84. The high-effort nature and fringy control leads to a relief profile, but there is certainly a niche role that he could fill with outlier release traits and four distinct pitches that have bat-missing abilities.
Undersized southpaw with some moxie and obvious competitive nature. Hides the ball well with a slight stab on the backside of the arm action, before flipping it up with quickness for an 83-86 mph fastball that played above bats from a unique, over-the-top slot from a lower release height. Flashed 2500 spin on 78-80 SL that played with late break. Some inconsistencies, but undoubtedly a niche-type arm that could provide uniqueness and competitiveness out of the 'pen.
Jackson Steury is a compact, strong 5-foot-6, 160-pound LHP/OF with twitch and explosiveness to his game. On the mound, he’s an up-tempo, max-intent mover with a fast arm from an over-the-top slot. The fastball sat 84–86 mph (T86) with high spin (T2519 rpm) but lacked consistent feel in this look. His breaking ball showed advanced metrics, spinning a 72–75 mph curveball at 2510 rpm and a 74–75 mph slider up to 2639 rpm with tight shape and some feel. Offensively, Steury hits from the left side with a short stride and upward swing, showing strength in the barrel with a 93 mph max exit velocity and 291’ peak distance. His arm plays big from the outfield at 90 mph, and he’s a 6.97 runner with a 25.4” vertical. Impact-level athleticism and arm talent make him a very intriguing two-way prospect.
