4/13/2019 Spring Scout Blog: Evansville commit. 6-foot-3, 205 pound frame. Drop and drive delivery. Short arm swing, ¾ slot. Fastball held 85-86 in the first, settling in at 83-85. Has feel for the breaking ball: Low 70’s, 11/5 shape with late depth. Pitched five innings, allowing seven hits, three walks while striking out six.  Threw 97 pitches, 63 for strikes.

2/17/2018:  6-foot-3, 205 pound right-handed pitcher sat 86-87 with a fastball showing some arm side sink.  High effort delivery, controlled tempo.  Drop and drive after balanced load.  Falls off to first base side, lacking firmness in front leg.  Short arm swing into 3/4 slot.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with some flashes of late depth.  Change-up is straight with fade.  Big, physical frame that fills the strike zone.

9/17/17 PBR Fall Championships: RHP Jakob Meyer (Columbus North HS, IN) has a thick frame at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds. He threw a high volume of strikes in his outing against the Giants Scout Team. He worked at 82-84 with his fastball, touching 85 on occasion. He also mixed in a 69-72 curveball with slurvy shape that he threw with more confidence as the game wore on. Meyer struck out four in the first three innings pitched.

2/25/2017:  The 6-foot-3, 190 pound pitcher throws from a high 3/4 slot with some rhythm and good direction.  Falls off first base side at times.  Quick arm with average use of lower half.  Fastball sat 81-82, touching 83.  Straight with some command on the knees.  Misses up at times when rushes.  Change-up has late fade with a slowed arm.  Curveball has downer action, 11/5 shape, at 68-72.

2/21/2016: 6-foot-1, 181 pounder pitches from an over the top/high 3/4 arm action with above average arm speed.  Regular effort in the delivery with some rhythm.  Falls towards 1B side, lands open.  Fastball was 75-78, up to 79.  Breaking ball has sweeping type shape with sharp action at 68-72, but inconsistent in the zone.  Changeup has arm side run at 71-72.
