3/26/18 Spring Scout Blog: Uncommitted 6-foot-1, 190 pound junior worked clean inning for first time out, needing only 11 pitches, mostly fastballs, to record three outs, striking out 1 hitter. Velocity and strength have been added since last fall when we saw him in game. Strong lower half, repeats delivery working at good pace down the mound. Clean, short arm swing, front side lands open. Attacked hitters with the fastball, sitting 86-88 with good command, arm side run. Threw a couple breaking balls, 71-72, sharp slider life. Changeup was thrown firm at 78. Pitches with closer mentality, rising prospect in 2019 class.

2/17/18:  6-foot-1, 190 pound pitcher works at a deliberate pace in the wind-up with balance throughout.  Short arm swing into high 3/4 slot.  Quick hand.  Lands open, over rotates.  Fastball sat 84-86, up to 87.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with some sharpness, erratic command.   Change-up sat 78-80, thrown with a stiff wrist.

2/18/18:  6-foot-1, 190 pound pitcher has some athleticism on the mound with fluid tempo.  Fastball ran up to 87, sitting 84-86.  Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with some inconsistency.  Change-up has arm side fade, commanded well.  Loose arm swing, above average hand speed.  Lands open, finishes upright.

9/10/17: 6-foot-1, 190 pound right handed pitcher has filled out and continued to develop since last time we saw him on the mound. Athletic, strong pitcher has jumped in velo since last time out and shows improvement on pitches. Delivery is fluid and repeatable down the mound, level shoulders with big glove front side, short ¾ arm action with average arm speed. Gains good acceleration down the mound to finish each pitch, front side hip and foot opens and swings out early, front foot landing open towards first base line, shoulders and head follow. Front side spins with inconsistent release point at times, missed often arm side off the plate with off speed pitches. Fastball was thrown firm and down arm side in the zone at 80-84, attacks zone. Curveball had more slider side to side action with tight spin, thrown at 68-70 glove side and away. Struggled to throw changeup for a strike and over the plate, pushed out of hand arm side, off the plate at 71-74. Physical frame with more velo to be gained, good presence on the mound.

6/22/15: 5-foot-11, 155 pounds, ran a 7.55-60.  Showcased average hands and fluid footwork in the field.  Quick, clean exchange.  Short, high ¾ arm action across the field at 72 mph.  At the plate this from a balanced setup, minimal load back.  Short stride with average use of the lower half.  Average bat speed, short level path.  Line drive hitter.  Recorded a high exit velocity of 75 mph.  On the mound pitches from a short, ¾ arm action with average arm speed.  Level shoulders, good line to the plate.  Lands square with an athletic finish.  Fastball shows slight run and sink at 75-79.  11/5 breaking ball, downer type pitch, was 58-61 with gradual break.  Changeup sat 62-64; slows arm down on the changeup.

June 2020: Six-foot-1, 190 pound right-hander attacked hitters with a 90-91 mph fastball that showed some sink while spinning in the low 2000s from a high three-quarter slot. Vore also flashed a near average split-grip changeup at 84-85 mph with a low-spin in the mid 1400s. His best pitch was an average slider in the low-80s. It has the potential to be an above average pitch in the future. He also mixed in a below average 73-74 mph curveball at 2375 rpm. Overall, Vore showed a clean, repeatable delivery with above average command and good mound presence. He has the potential to one day anchor the Bulldog rotation in a Friday night role.
