9/20/15: PITCHING- 6-foot-4, 210 pound right-hander throws from an over-the-top slot with quick arm speed. Slight stab on the back side of the delivery. Regular effort with smooth rhythm in the delivery. Good direction to the plate with level shoulders. Finishes upright. Fastball was kept down in the zone at 81-84. Breaking ball has gradual movement from a 10/4 shape at 63-66. 68-70 mph changeup was thrown with fastball arm speed showing arm side run.
CATCHING- Projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds. Displayed good arm strength at 79 mph while popping between 2.22-2.30. Needs to work on speeding up his transfer and getting into a throwing position quicker to let his arm speed work. Needs to also work on balance and softer hands while receiving. Offensively, hits from a wide, open setup and uses a slight leg kick. Possesses good bat speed with a level path to the baseball. Rhythm is a little choppy. Line drive type hitter, recorded a high exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee.
7/29/14: 6 foot 4 inches, 180 pounds, L/R, 7.82/60, 2.23- 2.33 pop time, Athletic, young player, strong body with wide shoulders and narrow hips. Behind the plate he had average hands and moved well. He hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, aggressive hitter, he will hit for power as he continues to grow and get stronger. On the mound he was very confident, 77-80 mph fastball with hard downhill plain and consistently in the strike zone. Very projectable RHP.
