2015 Wichita Eagle All-Metro Team 2015 All-AVCTL-I - 1st Team 2014 KABC 5A All-State - 2nd Team 2013 Wichita All-City - 1st Team
4/25/14 - Curtis Whitten is a two-sport star at Wichita Heights that is already being recruited by K-State, Kansas and Tulsa to play tailback. Whitten is listed at 5-foot-9, 190-pounds but he may have grown a bit since those measurements. He has a strong, athletic build. I timed the left-hand hitter at 3.95 seconds home to first-base on a ground ball in the first game. He turned his ankle between games and it limited his speed in the second game. Whitten made the routine plays and cutoffs in centerfield. He uses his plus speed to get on base (two bunt hits). The junior is hitting .450 with three triples, one home run, nine RBI and 19 runs scores in 14 games. He is also 14-15 stealing bases this season and has two outfield assists.
