5/13/14 - Francis is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-hand hitting middle infielder for Manhattan. He really stood out during pre-game infield at second base demonstrating quick hands and feet - plus infield actions. He made strong accurate throws. With senior Jacob Biller manning shortstop and Francis at second Manhattan has a very capable middle infield. It’s likely that Francis will move over to shortstop for his senior year. He has an athletic set-up at the plate with a slight crouch. He has a smooth, minimal hand load and short, inline stride. Francis has a short bat path, generates some bat speed and has good balance throughout his swing – he has a line drive approach, rhythm and carries himself with some swagger. He showed some offensive skills laying down two bunt hits. We clocked him 4.39 home to first base on a ground ball.
