Jaxson Davis, RHP, Lexington Christian Academy (KY), 2021
Redshirt sophomore. Davis returns a perfect 7-0 record with 47 innings, a 2.87 ERA and 51 strikeouts. Listed at 6-foot-4, 240-pounds, the big right-hander sat in the 88-89 mph range with his fastball, setting up a slider/splitter combination. His slider played at 78-82 mph and flashed sharp 10/4 action, while his splitter played in the 80-82 mph range with killed spin and downward movement.
Strong/athletic 6-foot-3, 205 pound frame. Davis' tools immediately stands out on the field. 6.80 runner in the 60 yard dash. Uses explosive lower half and quick hands to get the barrel though the zone. Looks to drive the baseball and has the power to do so. Will likely evolve into a consistent power threat at the college level. Defensively, works through the ball and has elite arm strength from the outfield at 96 mph with significant carry. Profiles as an athletic right fielder.
Intriguing on the mound where his fastball works up to 90 mph and he has shown the ability to spin a late-breaking high-70's slider. Command will need to improve, but Davis has obvious arm strength.
