6-foot-1, 170 pound LHH has grown and filled out since we last saw him more than a year ago. Saw big jump in infield velocity and exit velocity. Still has plenty of physical projection. Stays balanced at the plate with a short stride. Line drive, contact-oriented swing produced several hard line drives to middle of the field. Could add a power element to offensive game as he adds strength. Athletic defender shows ability to  make all the plays with above average arm strength. A very intriguing player given his defensive ability and left handed bat. High follow this spring.

5-foot-11, 145-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and square stance with a short stride, stays quiet with a sold approach and shows above average bat speed, does a good job getting the barrel on plane and keeping it in the hitting zone, produces line drive contact to all fields and could develop some power as he gets stronger. Moves athletically and displays good infield actions with soft hands, short high-3/4 release, current arm strength is average bit should improve, good body control and ability to throw on the move. Howard is a high follow in the 2019 class.
