6'3" 190 lbs. athletic frame with room to hold more strength. Champagne continues to perform each time that we see him, hence why he's one of the top uncommitted players in the state's 2025 class. On a night when there wasn't a whole lot of hitting going around, Champagne managed to collect one of the hardest hit balls of the night in his last at-bat. Trying to ignite a 7th inning Dutchtown rally, he led off the inning with a really good at-bat, working the count to 3-2, before delivering a firm single up the middle on a CB down & away to finish the night 1-3 at the plate.

We've talked a lot about the 6'3" 190 lbs. uncommitted backstop and for good reason. The Dutchtown product continued to show that he's trending in the right direction on opening day, as the Griffins took on University Lab. Champagne faced off against one of the state's top RHP's and didn't disappoint, as he was able to finish the game 2-3 with a 2B and a BB. Not only did he collect two hits on the night, but his at-bats and takes were impressive, as he found himself in a good position to hit with every pitch that was thrown his way. Defensively, he was on point as well, as he threw out two base runners on the night and received and blocked well all evening. Uncommitted for now, Champagne will be a hot commodity come March 1st, when college recruiters can get back out on the road.
