2/29/16 Chalmette HS RHP Rafe Schindler (2017) was extremely impressive on Monday night. A 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-hander with a lanky, athletic frame that projects well. Long arm action with slight stab on backend into high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction and lands square. Fastball sat 83-86 mph with late sink action and solid command. Showed a slider with 10/4 shape, sharp action, tight spin, and fastball arm speed at 77-78 mph. Showed a curveball with 11/5 shape, gradual break, inconsistent spin and slows arm at 69-70 mph. Flashed solid feel for changeup at times with near fastball arm speed and fade action. Also flashed a cutter with late action at 80-81 mph. Pitched 7 innings, striking out 12, gave up 4 hits and 0 earned runs. Attacked hitters within the strike zone, consistently going hard in to right-handed hitters.
8-1-15 A 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed pitcher a long, lean, athletic frame. Clean, athletic delivery with in-line direction, slight stab in arm swing and quick arm speed into a high-3/4 release. Fastball sat 84-86 mph with solid angle, life and command in two outings. Flashed an advanced feel for slider with tight spin, depth and deception at 76-77 mph. Commanded two pitches extremely well, worked with great tempo, and showed advanced mound presence.
1/10/15- A 6-foot-4, 170-pound right-hander from Chalmette, LA. Long, lean, projectable frame with loose, fast arm out of a high-3/4 release. Clean, in-line delivery with some funkiness in the arm swing and hand wrap. Fastball sat 82-84 mph with occasional life and command. Flashes a quality breaking ball with 11/5 shape, spins correctly, with depth and deception. Exciting young prospect that had a successful freshman season at Chalmette HS, and should continue to get better.
2017 RHP from Chalmette HS with a 6-foot-2 190 pound frame. Playing for the Louisiana Knights in both summer and fall was 84-86 and up to 87. Posses a quality breaking ball with 11/5 shape, tight spin and good depth. Clean delivery, quick arm with some angle to the plate.
