The initial set up is a balanced, athletic stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A short stride gets the bat heading through the hitting zone on a quick, flat plane. He finishes through contact and maintains balance throughout. Behind the plate, Donovan was 75 MPH with a pop time range of 2.03-2.06 on his throws to second base. His initial stance is quiet, with the glove relaxed in the center of the chest. As he transitioned to throw, he showed a fluid exchange, soft hands, and smooth footwork. During the event, he also recorded a 60 time of 7.3.

2/27/21

Donovan is a 5-foot-11, 150 pound switch-hitting catching prospect. Both swings begin out of a narrow, slightly open stance, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. Each swing uses a leg lift to get the swing started and stack the weight over the back leg. The right-handed swing uses a slightly more uphill path, yielding an exit velocity of 85 MPH. The left-handed stroke is a bit flatter, producing a lot of line drives and a 78 MPH exit velocity.

Defensively, Donovan was 77 MPH, with a pop time range of 1.94-2.03 seconds down to second base. His actions are athletic, he receives well and the arm is quick. He moves well transitioning into the throwing position. The hips and shoulders get aligned with second base, allowing the arm to work freely. He finishes over his front side and makes consistent throws on the bag.
