11.5.16 - Athletic, lanky frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash with a 1.81 10-yard split. Hits from a square, athletic setup. Smooth weight transfer back in load with double tap. Level swing path, hands stayed inside the ball well, let ball get deep on him at times. Shows strength and has some bat speed and projection. Exit velocity of 89 mph. Athletic in the outfield. Moves well, confident first step. Clean exchange with a loose arm action. Outfield velocity of 87 mph...Athletic, lanky frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Controlled delivery with deliberate tempo. Aggressive through finish.Lands square to the plate. Could keep posture to increase lower half involvement. Pitches with regular effort and fast arm speed through release. FB up to 85 mph with slight sink on the pitch. Breaking ball ranged from 66-69 mph with bigger 11/5 shape on the pitch. Got under the pitch on the day, when had proper hand positioning, showed good swing and miss potential. Split change was 73-75 mph with some fade and sink on the pitch.

9/11/16 - Athletic lanky frame with length at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Ran a 6.65 on a slightly downhill track. Hits from an athletic slightly open set up. Smooth load to hitting position. Level swing path with quick hands through the zone. Shows nice rhythm and blance throughout. Sprays the gaps. Sound footwork in the outfield. Clean exchange with a loose arm action throwing from a high ¾ slot. Throws have carry o the and are accurate up to 89 mph…Build up delivery with loose arm action throwing from a high ¾ slot. Creats fast arm speed through release. Does get some lower half involvement. Fastball has slight sink to the pitch up to 85 on the day. Breaking ball showed tight rotation and later break with 11/5 shape. Threw a splitter with later dive to the pitch at 72 mph.  High ceiling athlete with more room to grow.

 
8.4.16 - Cook has a lanky 6-1 frame and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a smooth drop and drive delivery. Longer arm action that is quick with normal effort. Shoulders uphill and slightly closed, stride is on line to a square landing with an athletic finish and recoil. Fastball was 80-82, touching 83 with sink when at the bottom of the zone. Curveball had late 11/5 break and decent armspeed, running 67-69...Lanky and athletic Brandon Cook showed plenty of untapped potential for Team Mid-Atlantic. Had one of the better 60-yard dash times at 6.85. Hits from a balanced setup at the plate. Lowers hands in load with level swing path and quick hands. Exit velocity of 87 mph. Loose arm from the outfield and throws had carry on the up to 89 mph.

 7.15.16 - St. Mary’s HS 2018 and Future Games participant Brandon Cook ran a 6.8 60-yard dash on the day with life on his throws from the outfield. Has a level swing path with average bat speed. More consistent lower half should help with timing at the plate. Cook also pitched and was 83-85 mph topping out at 86 on the day. Slider had short action on the pitch at 72 mph. (Cook topped out at 87 the following day)...
3.8.16 - 2018 Brandon Cook is a burner on the basepaths and covers plenty of ground in the outfield. He has an above average arm in the outfield and at the plate gets a little long at times, but is an interesting player to keep an eye on.

8.11.15 - Athletic frame at 6-foot-1 165 pounds. Throws from a high ¾ arm angle with loose arm action and quick arm speed. Has a controlled delivery and pitches with regular effort. Square landing in-line to the plate with clean finish. Fastball has slight cut to it at 83 mph. Breaking ball has near fastball arm speed with 10/4 shape at 70 mph. Throws a knuckle ball with near fastball arm speed and late sink at 74 mph. Athletic on the mound and has more in the tank.    Switch hitting prospect is more developed from the right side and shows better rhythm. Hits from a balanced set up slightly open. Level path to the ball with some lower half usage. Get a bit of extension and looks to have potential pop. Best exit velocity was from right side at 84 mph. Hits from a balanced set up from left side. Level bat path to contact with average bat speed. Average balance and slightly stiff on the left side. From the outfield has active feet with sound hands and exchange. Plays thru the ball well with a loose arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had life on them at 88 mph. Will get even faster as he improves first step. Ran a 6.81 60-yard dash.
