Athletic lanky 6 foot, 160 pound body type and frame with room to grow and fill out. Hits from an athletic, balanced, slightly open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a small leg kick. Showed some lower half involvement and bat speed. Shorter, slight uphill swing path with an exit velo of 83 mph. Gap-to-gap type hitter with occasional pop. Plays with active feet in the infield and has a nice athletic setup. Plays through the ball with fluid footwork and soft hands. Quick, clean exchange with short arm actions throwing from a high three-quarters arm slot at 75 mph. Quiet body receiving behind the plate. Athletic, quick footwork and exchange on pops ranging 1.97 - 2.22. Consistently accurate throws down to second base at 73 mph. Ran a 4.25 home-to-first.

API 15u 2020 Derek Ohringershowed a sound skill set in the game that looks as if it could develop nicely as he works on footwork and adds strength
12.4.16:  Ohringer is 5-10 with a lanky frame, he hits from the right side from a balanced open stance. Good rhythm, short stride on line and smooth load back, decent hips and balance throughout swing. Short line drive swing and used the middle of the field, exit velocity of 74. At short, above average footwork and hands, clean transfer and throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action, shortstop velocity of 73. Behind the plate, firm receiver, athletic exchange. Throws from high three-quarters slot with short arm action, catcher velocity of 69 and pop times 2.09-2.21.
