VA/MD State Games

6-foot, 185-pound strong sturdy frame. Solid confident during batting practice, Hwang had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. (71.5 mph bat speed average). (22.7 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide balanced stance with an active load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was efficient, showed a flat upward swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive approach. Solid confident in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 83 mph; showed sure consistent hands, a clean exchange, and in control fluid feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Decent accuracy to the bag, used an-over-the-top slot and a short quick arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.74. Smooth confident on the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a quick consistent arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed consistent balance point and downhill shoulders. Lands open with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 76-79 mph and topped out at 80 mph; shows deceiving sinking action and some decent control. (Max spin 2232; Avg 2133). Threw a 12/6 curveball (65-68) that showed deceiving late action and feel around the zone command. (Max spin 2168; Avg 2119). Shows fading action and feel around the zone command on his changeup (68-69). 


Maryland Preseason All-State Session II

Body: 5’11’’, 185 pounds. Strong, athletic frame with a sturdy lower half. 
Hit: LHH. Open, narrow stance with the bat working comfortably off the shoulder to start; utilized a controlled leg hang in order to initiate the swing through a fluid, flat path into the hitting zone. Stayed connected in the box with great sequencing throughout a rhythmic turn into the baseball. Got to extension yielding a pull side approach with juice when lifting (47% fly ball rate). Worked his way up to a 332 foot batted ball distance with a peak of 71 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball. 
Power: 95 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power with occasional home run juice to pull when getting the barrel out in front. 
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Moderate takeaway, high ¾ slot with intent. 
Defense: Hop in the prep step allowing for attacking footwork and the weight to stay on the toes. Low posture at the fielding window with a soft glove hand off the middle, left side of his body; kept the feet moving towards the target with down chest angles yielding accurate throws across the diamond.

Delivery: Started from the far left side of the rubber; side rocker also worked to the front as well lifting to a medium-low, quick position with slight hip coil before driving out towards the plate; great extension down the mound on the forward move while landing leveraged into a stiff front side. 
Arm Action: RH. High ¾ slot with high intent on the front side, minimal restrictions.
FB: T83 mph, 80-82 mph. Average spin rate of 2070 rpm. Mostly straight look with adequate carry into the zone.
CB: 67-69 mph. Average spin rate of 2010 rpm. Held the zone at a 50% rate showing get me over abilities. 
CH: 73-76 mph. Some fade present on occasion working up around 10 inches of horizontal movement.


Maryland Top Prospect Games II

Body: 5’11’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic frame.
Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate with a high leg kick load and short stride. Creates some hand separation and stays behind the ball with excellent balance throughout the swing. Short to the ball with a natural uphill swing. Creates quick bat speed through the zone with extension through contact and finish. Solid gap-to-gap line drive approach. 
Power: 85 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Shows strength and power to the alleys with more projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot. Throws showed some carry across the diamond. 
Defense: Showed some lateral range at third base and fields the ball in the center of his body. Feet stay active and work through the ball to the target. Slight glove tap in exchange. 
Run: 7.96 60-yard time.

Delivery: Slight up-tempo side-step wind-up and high leg kick into a tall, compact balance position. Long kick-out stride down the mound with strong lower half drive off the rubber. Gets down hard over the front side through release with really nice extension. Clean hand separation and level shoulders. Lands in-line to the plate with an athletic, complete follow through and finish. 
Arm Action: RH. Throws with long, loose arm action from a high three-quarter slot with some intent. Creates really quick arm speed through release. 
FB: T80 mph, 77-79 mph. Average spin rate of 1989 rpm per TrackMan. 
CB: 63-65 mph. Tighter 12/6 shape with an average spin rate of 1933 rpm per TrackMan.

Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5’10’’, 165. Athletic
Hit: LHH. Balanced, open stance. Controlled leg kick load with slight pause and nice hand separation. Stays behind the ball well with strong lower half. Gets good extension through contact and showed loose hands and quick bat speed through the zone. Easy, fluid swing with a really nice middle of the field approach. 
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Gap-to-gap pop. More power projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Throws with short arm action from a mid-high three-quarters slot.
Defense: Works through the ball in the infield. Plays with active feet and surrounds the ball fielding it closer into the body. Showed a clean transfer and keeps feet moving to target. Taps glove to collect prior to throw. 
Run: 4.69 home-to-first time.
Delivery: Up-tempo side-step wind-up to a compact balance point. Lands open with front foot square to the plate. Gets good extension with a strong, athletic follow through and finish. 
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot with effort.
FB: T75 mph, 73-75 mph. Slight arm side run.
CB: 60-65 mph. Gradual 12/6 shape. 
CH: 63-66 mph. Slight fade.
