Stronger lower half from the left side with a short uphill swing path. Short and more of a level, slightly uphill swing path from the right side. Fluid rhythm and stays behind the ball well form both sides. Exit velo was 80 mph also from both sides. Gap-to-gap line drives type hitter with occasional pop. Plays the middle infield with active feet and soft hands. Athletic, moves well, and plays through the ball. Funnels ball to chest and showed a quick, clean exchange. Short arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 79 mph. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. 

Compact athletic frame at 5-9, 160-pounds. Switch hitter, hits from a square slightly open set up. Leg kick load to hitting position. Lands slightly closed off from the left side, however he lands slightly open from the right. Shorter swing path from left side with quick hands and some extension. Right handed more level with some extension through contact. Exit velo topped out at 83 from the right side. Athletic actions with active feet in the infield. Clean hands and exchange with short arm action from a high three quarter slot. Infield velo was up to 83 mph. ---- Controlled delivery with temp and slight corkscrew into his lift. Average lower half involvement and backside drive. Shorter, athletic arm action with arm speed throwing from a high three quarter slot. Fastball is straight with slight run up to 82 mph. Breaking ball has shorter, 10/4 shape to the pitch up to 70 mph.

2.12.17: Waddell has a young, projectable 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame. From the mound he shows a compact, athletic delivery. Leg lift goes into a bit of a corkscrew, but he gets down his line well through his delivery. He uses his lower half to a point, but could get better hip explosion at foot strike through finish. Pitches with some effort. Arm angle is a ¾ with quick, sound arm action. Fastball was 78-79 with darting action. Breaking ball was 65-66 with gradual, 11/5 shape.

12.4.16:  Waddell is 5-9 with a lankier frame, drop and drive delivery throwing from a three-quarters arm slot. Short, quick arm action with some effort to the delivery. Shoulders uphill and closed, square landing with a fall off finish. Fastball was 77-79, touching 80 with some late run. Slider had late 11/5 downer break, running 64-68 with good armspeed. Switch hitter, from the right side, open upright stance. Leg kick stride and good hips and balance. Short to ball, level line drive swing that was inside out. From the left side, open stance with a big leg kick stride, explosive hips and decent balance. Longer swing, working uphill through the ball with a pull approach. In the infield, smooth clean footwork and soft hands. Good clean exchange, throws from sidearm with a short, loose arm action, infield velocity was 72.
