Player Spotlight 

Caleb Koob: C/RHP, (2021) Saline, MI. 6-foot, 195-pound sturdy frame. At the plate, Koob clocked an exit velocity of 86 mph. Begins in an athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a long stride. Has average bat speed, flat swing plane and high finish. He barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. Laterally, his movements were average. While catching, throw downs to second were maxed at 73 mph; showed soft hands, a quick exchange, and average feet. Had consistent pop times of 2.05-2.09. Athletic setup with some flexibility. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.74. Capable on the mound, showing good arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle with a quick arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows max effort. Showed consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Changeup (61-64 mph).Sat with his fastball at 78-79 mph and topped out at 81 mph; Threw a 11/5 curveball (61-65) that showed consistent control and sweeping action.

Body: 6-foot, 195-pound sturdy frame.

Hit: (RHH) Started in an athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a long stride. Average bat speed. High finish, flat swing. Up the middle approach. 

Power: 86 mph exit velocity, average 75.81 mph. 65.48 mph bat speed average. 19.56 mph hand speed average.

Defense: (C) 2.05-2.09 pop times. Soft hands, average footwork, quick exchange. Above average. Some flexibility and athletic setup.  Laterally, his movements were average. 

Arm: 73 mph catcher velocity. 

Speed: 7.74 (60-yard).

Pitching: Capable. Tall-and-fall delivery, max effort. ¾ arm angle, good arm speed, quick arm action. Consistent balance point, in line shoulders, lands square, an athletic finish.

FB: T81. 78-79 mph. (Max spin 1806;  Avg 1738). 

CB: 61-65 mph. Consistent control, sweeping action, 11/5 shape. 

CH: 61-64 mph.

Pitching: On the mound takes a step left from his centered position on the mound sitting on his back leg. Kicks his leg out slightly prior to delivering from a high 3/4 arm angle. Showed the ability to change arm slots throwing from a side arm angle at times. Slows arm slightly on his sweeping breaking ball.

Hitting: Starts with an open stance, lifts leg stepping into the ball showing an aggressive approach at the plate. Drove balls to deep LF, with authority. 

Pitching: On the mound step left moving to his balance point, drops down and throws from a low 3/4 arm angle. Sweeping action on the curve with a gradual break sitting 62-64 mph . Fastball showed good cut action sitting 77-79 mph. Mixed in a 72-73 mph change up.

Pitching: Sets up on the mound with a shoulder width apart stance. Steps left moving to his waist high balance point while leaning back and throwing from a high 3/4 arm angle. Also drops down to sidearm angle. 

Fastball: Fastball was in the zone with command 70-74 mph. Pitches up in the zone. 

Curve: 55-56 mph sweeping curve with a gradual break.
