One of the few freshman to attend Top Prospect Games. Passes the “eye-test” at 6-foot-5, 190-pounds. Has a chance to be very good. A little stiffer in the lower half but arm worked well. Fastball sat between 82-87 mph. High ¾ slot. 70-71mph on the breaking ball with 11/5 shape. Change at 73mph. One of the best in the Class of 2016.
Mokma was easily the youngest player at the event but he certainly fit right in. The 6-foot-4 Mokma has long levers that produced an 82-84mph fastball. He is still raw, which is what you would expect for a player just entering high school, but the tools are all there. He needs to continue to refine his craft but has a chance to be pretty special.
8-15-2018:�Extra-large frame at six-foot-seven, 240 pounds. Clean arm action from high � slot but some stiffness in delivery. Throws a heavy fastball at 89-91 mph, but it’s straight and finds a lot of barrel. Curveball ranges 77-79 and has potential to be average but is still a work in progress. (D Jurik)
