In the field shows good range moving both to the glove and open hand side. Soft hands and a quick release. Gap to gap hitter who swings with an aggressive cut. Shows some pop at the plate.

Keeps bat head in the zone long, making solid contact Recorded an exit velocity of 79 mph. Moves well with lateral range on the infield. Has an accurate arm across the diamond and shows good composure. On the mound, Newby has an aggressive leg kick to kickstart his delivery. Works quick and is a strike thrower. Fastball sits 71-75 mph. Breaking ball is 60-62 mph.

5-foot-8, 150-pound prospect. Slightly open stance with leg lift to create timing. Aggressive swings while working the middle of the field. Quick hands work through the zone well. Recorded exit velocity of 74 mph. Very good defender. Feet stay active working through the baseball. Soft hands with quick release. Smooth fielder with very good technique.
