2/16/19: Tall, extra large framed righty with an above average 86-88 mph cutter (2300-2375 rpm) as his best pitch. Worked exclusively from the stretch on the first base side of the rubber. Constantly fights his front side landing leg. Closed foot landing inhibits full rotation. Repeated his delivery well. Good arm action. High three-quarters slot. Below average deception. Fastball up to 93, mostly 89-91 mph at 2000-2200 rpm. Occasional 83 mph changeup with a mid-1600s spin rate. Showed good feel and an idea on the bump with good mound presence. (Seifert)
8/8/18: Big, physical presence on the mound at 6’5/220 pounds. Passes the eye test right away. Proportionally built with good slope in the upper body. Relies on strength more than explosiveness. Arm action is clean and repeatable. High ¾ release creates tough angle on his 89-93 mph FB. Also features a CB at 77-80 and CH at 80-83. Very good strike rate out of the pen this summer (13.9/9). Landing foot is slightly closed off once it gets down; could be causing too much rotation around front side and limiting extension. Making that adjustment and improving control would help his overall prospect status. (D Jurik)
