RHP Jack Burckhardt (Lafayette, 2024) looked the part of a quality arm to follow from Sunday’s event. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior showed above-average feel for the zone with his fastball, pumping strikes at 83-84 mph. He spun two breaking balls, a curveball and slider, that worked in similar velocity bands yet featured different pitch action. The former worked more vertically through the zone, showing little-to-no horizontal movement, while the latter averaged 11 inches of sweep, per TrackMan. Burckhardt rounded out his arsenal with a firm 79-80 mph slider that he killed spin on (1444 RPM).

Body: 6-1, 180-pounds. Strong, well-proportioned frame.
Delivery: Slight side step begins delivery, works in a controlled manner to balance point, creates momentum downhill and sits into the backside. Drop/drive pattern, closed shoulders to footstrike, square finish through release. Repeats with rhythm.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm draw, high 3/4 finish.
FB: T84, 83-84 mph. Straight, four-seam type that played around the zone for strikes. T2100, 2009 average rpm.
CB: 75-77 mph. Maintains arm speed and intent. 11/5 shape with slight depth, landed for strikes. T2439, 2398 average rpm.
SL: 74-76 mph. Thrown with fastball arm speed and intent. Creates more horizontal action than curveball. Developing feel for zone. T2381, 2321 average rpm.
CH: 79-80 mph. Limits spin, worked down in the zone on occasion, flashed fade. T1578, 1444 average rpm.
