At the plate, starts slightly open with smooth load into back side, minimal hand load, level path through the zone, short to contact, mostly line drives to the middle of the field, solid consistent contact. On the infield, 76 mph positional velo, athletic actions, high three quarters release, quick feet, plays through the ball with momentum towards 1B, accurate throws with carry. On the mound, Wheeler has a high three quarters arm slot, lean and projectable frame with loose arm action, simple and repeatable mechanics, repeats, fastball at 76-78 mph, curveball shows signs of being a good pitch with tight spin, 11-to-5 shape, some having sharp movement, change up at 66-70 mph.
