Ranked #178 in the Missouri 2018 rankings.Tradition sub movement on this fastball running down and hard to his armside. Sweeping 10/4 breaking ball with deception from working across his body.

Shaffer is a submarine style pitcher, loose arm action, shows ability to repeat, delivery has deception working slightly across body, fastball at 73-76 mph, running action, slider has 10-to-4 action, some with late run, 64-67 mph, fastball arm speed and fastball release point, making it hard to pick up spin out of hand,

2/18/17 - Shaffer is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class Shaffer is a sub-marine thrower with low arm slot, slight coil at balance point, showed feel for fastball and change-up, slider showed to be a good pitch and he continues to create feel,  fastball has arm side sink,  fastball at 70-72 mph, slider has 10-to-4 sweeping action, 64-67 mph, change up has depth with arm side sink, 65-68 mph, all pitches have movement out of same release point.

7/19/16 - Shaffer is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 7.78 60 and has a 72 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, short stride, mostly middle to pull contact, some pull pop.  On the infield, 79 mph positional velo, throws with a low arm slot, aggressive footwork to the ball, mostly accurate throws, fluid exchange and release. On the mound, Shaffer is a submarine-style pitcher, stays in line with stride, smooth rhythm and tempo, works both sides of the plate with fastball, fastball at 69-71, some with rising action, slider at 58-63 mph, gradual break, change up at 63-64 mph.
