3/21/18 - 6’3/225, Jr. Strong, durable frame. Tossed 6 innings in a loss Friday night, giving up 4 runs, 2 earned on 7 hits, striking out 8, while walking only one. Premium strike thrower, with plus command, pitching to both sides of the plate with ease (Strikeout-to-walk ratio in 29 IP of 43-to-2). Long, clean arm action into high-3/4 release with average arm speed. Athletic, polished delivery, working with quick tempo from windup with good direction and repeats it consistently. Pitched 87-93 mph with his fastball, settling in at 88-89 mph. Moves the fastball around extremely well, commanding it up/down and in/out. Although mostly straight, the fastball plays up because of the command. Showed downhill angle at times, but found a couple of barrels late in game when left over the dish. Showed an average to slightly above curveball at times with 2/8 shape, short depth and late bit at 75-77 mph. Throws it for strikes, and is effective in left-on-left matchups. Future mid-rotation starter and potential top round pick. Track record of success in the highest-levels of amateur baseball. Fastball has shown more velocity in the past (Up to 96 mph). Secondary stuff needs refinement, so he doesn’t need to rely so heavily on the fastball command.
