5/31/20

Positional Profile: RHP/SS.
Body: 6’1”, 145 pounds. Long, lanky frame with room for growth ahead.
Defense:  Fluid feet, catches the ball in the center of his body, funnels to the midsection, clean transfers. Average to above average hands.
Arm: R. INF - 84 mph. Accurate with carry, long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Balanced, hands start in front of his chest with a more upright barrel. Hands load back with a short stride. Gap to gap approach, some quickness to his hands. Barrel works short to the ball, high finish, getting out of the zone to quickly at times. Average feel for his barrel.
Power: 76 mph exit velocity from the tee.  Average bat speed that should improve with added strength.
Run: 4.35 runner in the 30.

Delivery: Slight side step and slide to the middle of the rubber.  Easy turn and kick to the mid-chest.  Simple direction with uphill posture through the shoulders.  Creates leverage as he lands on-line and square.
Arm Action: R. Stab out of the glove, but with good rhythm recovers to get to a solid position at foot strike.  Over-the-top, with a high front side.  Average to above arm speed.
FB: T82, 81-82 mph. 1853 rpm. Attacks the down zone with 12:30 tilt out of the hand.  Stays true.
CB: 69-70 mph. 1976 rpm. Working for true top to bottom action.  Slight hump out of the hand. Fights for consistent action.
CH: 70-72 mph. 1331 rpm. Solid arm speed.  Good direction with feel.  Slight fade.

5/23/19

5 foot 11, 125-pound young frame with plenty of room to fill out.  Hits from the right side using a balanced setup.  Uses a leg kick during his load with quiet hands and barrel.  Inconsistent timing in his lower half affects his ability to get his lower half through the ball.  Works mostly middle to his pull side with his barrel getting out of the zone to quickly at times.  Exit velocity recorded at 74 mph and should improve with added strength.  Plays light on his feet with average hands on the infield.  Funnels to the belt after catch with clean exchanges and a long arm action, throwing from an over the top slot.  Arm topped at 78 mph to first base.  Recorded a 4.50 in the 30-yard dash.
Small side step to an average leg kick, slow and controlled to balance.  Average stride, on-line and square.  Long arm swing with a slight stab at the bottom of the arc.  Over-the-top release.  Front side needs to add strength, losing some of his hip speed transition, breaking the front side down, and falling off slightly to the 1B side.  Fastball has run and sink, in the zone at 73-76.  The breaking ball was inconsistent, showing flashes of sharp tilt at 65-68.  Downer action, the hand speed mimics the fastball.  Projection is left in the frame and as strength is added to the lower half, there will be a jump in stuff.
