07.25.17
Right hander attacks the zone with feel for fastball and breaking ball.  Long, loose arm arc gets to a high-3/4 slot.  Good balance point and easy effort from a smooth delivery that works level and in-line.  Good tempo, pounded the bottom half of the zone.  Fastball worked 75-78, occasionally cutting.  Located at a high level to the arm side vs. left and right handed hitters.  Breaking ball has gradual arc in a 11/5 shape.  Window is similar to fastball with hand speed that can provide some deception. Breaking ball touched 62.
Offensively the 5-foot-10, 160 pounder works from an athletic base with a short stride.  Loads the bat head to a vertical position.  Stays level through the zone, working the middle of the field.  Exit velocity hit 80 off the barrel.  Arm works with a long path to an over-the-top slot.  Advanced accuracy and average carry at 81 across the diamond.  Funnels to the midsection with clean exchanges as he plays through the ball.  Plays with a high motor and showed better feel for the barrel in game vs. BP.

01.28.17
Athletic 5-foot-9, 160 pound frame has some stiffness through the arm swing working to a high-3/4 slot.  Average to above arm speed was being controlled with the January time of the bullpen.  Fastball reached 75 from a delivery that has some rhythm, working level and in-line, with a long arm swing.  Change-up has advanced potential ranging 65-68 with late arm side run and filling the zone up.  Curveball showed a sweepy 10/4 arc with early, gradual break.  Arc may tighten as the hand speed increases with the pitch, as the season nears.  Sat 61-64, erratic at times but flashing strike zone awareness with it.
Works from a balanced, athletic stance in the box.  Load back, raising the barrel to a vertical position, using a short stride to create better than average bat speed.  Very aggressive demeanor.  Average barrel awareness with exit velocity topping at 78.  Worked to stay level, creating extension, with a pull side tendency.  On the infield works to funnel balls to the mid-section while the feet and hands can fight the rhythm at times.  Long arm action, has some effort, getting to a high-3/4 slot, flashing average accuracy and carry.  Arm strength measured at 78 across the diamond.  Ran a 4.38 thirty and tested with a 8-foot-3 standing broad jump.
11.06.16
Easy delivery that repeats, working to a high-3/4 slot with average to above hand speed.  Loose arm action leads to a fastball sitting 77-80.  Advanced feel for his offspeed, with the curveball touching 65.  Hand speed was near look-alike, producing a gradual shape to the pitch.  Change-up sat 72-74, with sink.  Both offspeed pitches pounded the zone.  Showed a feel for pitching and working with his stuff. Listed at 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, the right handed hitter begins with a vertical bat and athletic stance.  Loads down, with a short stride.  Simple, repeatable setup.  Does create some loop in the swing, working slightly up hill, with a gap-to-gap approach.  Barrel awareness is average.  Exit velocity topped at 83mph.  On the infield, works to a long arm stroke toward a high-3/4 slot.  Flashed accuracy.  Average hands and fluid feet allowed the body to load the arm action.  Arm speed recorded at 69mph across the infield.
