Deremer displayed perhaps one of the highest ceilings of any prospect last weekend, standing at a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. The former PBR Future Games participant reached as high as 92 mph with his fastball, pitching at 89-91 mph with relative ease throughout his operation. He turned to a breaking ball with more gradual action as a change-of-pace offering, relying mostly on that aforementioned heater during this look. Committed to Iowa, Deremer has one of the higher ceilings in Nebraska’s 2023 class and is ranked inside the top-10 at the moment.
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 190-pounds.
Defense: Controlled approach with active feet through the ball. Relaxed confident glove with quick exchange into strong accurate throws
Arm: OF - 91 mph.
Hit: RHH. Open balanced stance. Simple stride light arm bar in load. Athletic swing w/ a flat bat path. Middle pull side approach with consistent hard contact hitting mostly line drives in BP
Power: 95.8 mph exit velocity from Trackman.
Run: 7.16 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Short rocker with good rhythm and temp. Solid direction down the mound with a glove pat and a relaxed loose finish.
Arm Action: Hand driven and very loose out of the glove. Hand is on time a foot plant relaxed ¾ slot finish
FB: T90.00, 88.4-90.0 mph. Good arm side run. Good jump out of hand
CB: 65.8-70.3 mph. Tight hard 12/6 break. Commanded low well
CH: 75.6-80.7 mph. Some tail w/ good arm speed.
5-foot-11, 155 pound two-way player ran a 7.63 60 yard sprint. Lean athletic frame. Square stance, toe tap trigger, arm bar, sporadic contact during round of BP. Posted an 76 mph exit velocity off a tee. Easy athletic actions in the outfield, works through the ball with accuracy to the plate. Topped out at 79 mph to the catcher. On the mound, topped out at 77 mph from a mid ¾ slot. Compact pie action on the backside and long and loose outfront. Slight crossfire across body. Varying sink action on fastball. 11/5 shaped breaking ball he can land for strikes. Firm change up should continue to develop.
