Super 60 (February 4th, 2018)
Herman has a lean, athletic build at 6-feet 185-pounds with broad shoulders. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.77-seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 97 MPH. Offensively – starts in a crouched position with feet neutral but wide and hands above his shoulder, near his head. Smooth load process starts swing, with a small foot lift and stride. Short, compact and explosive hands and hips through the zone. Ball jumps off bat with backspin and carry. Effortless line drive pop with a fluid, easy finish and slight uphill swing, Herman cemented himself as one of the high risers from his performance at the event. From the outfield – Herman touched several 94 MPH throws with a short, quick arm action from a high-3/4 slot. Able to play through his throws with momentum that helps the ball carry with backspin. The ball seemed to get on the catchers in a hurry. Overall impressive performance from the South Jersey native on one of the biggest stages.
Herman has a broad shouldered, physical build at 6-feet, 185-pounds and has been one of the top hitters in the state year after year since he burst on to the scene as a freshman. He uses a small foot stride to start swing and loads his hands straight back in a fluid, controlled motion. Short, quick and explsoive bat path through the zone with some lift to his finish – Herman's unique ability to hit for power into the gaps and advanced speed make him one of the most dangerous and well respected hitters in the state and in the country. An excellent athlete, Herman's fastball has gotten up to 88-89 MPH, will be an asset in the OF for Maryland next spring.
Jupiter 2016
Maryland commit who crushed a 91-mph fastball for two-run double to right-center that had an exit velocity of 97 mph. Herman, a 6-foot, 180-pound Maryland recruit, also barreled a ball to deep right field that was caught.
7/9/14 Herman impressed in all facets of the game, showing legitimate two-way abilities at a young age. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect has an athletic frame and should continue to develop size and strength in the coming years. Herman displayed athletic actions defensively with good carry to throws of 86 mph from his outfield position. The right-handed hitter showcased an 86 mph bat exit velocity from a fluid right handed swing that produced consistent line drives during his round of batting practice. Herman showed developing power potential and loose hands that led to the ball jumping off his bat. The righty finished his day by sitting 80-82 from the mound while maintaining velocity out of the stretch. Herman also commanded an 11/5 breaking curveball at 66 mph and a 67 mph knuckle ball out of a high 3/4 arm slot.
