‘25 RHP/INF Luke Druken has drawn attention on the mound over the past two summers but was equally as productive at the dish throughout the tournament. The right-hander worked 6.2 innings over two outings and allowed just two runs, four hits, walked six and punched out 12. The left-handed bat has definitely made strides and he went 5-for-12 with a pair of doubles and a HR, along with a pair of multi-hit games. Has impressed in a Newfoundland uniform at the national level multiple times now and will remain on the scene for a couple more summers.
3/15/23
2025 RHP Luke Druken was one of the more high profile underclass arms in Cocoa and didn’t disappoint. The Canes Canada right-hander pounded the zone with the fastball at 79-81 T81.7 and got swings/misses on the pitch. Also does a good job working the outer edges and bottom of the strike zone. Spun the breaking ball at 68-70mph with more of a horizontal look. Good first showing of the year from the 2022 Jr. Future Gamer who continues to excel on the mound.
11/13/22
2025 RHP/3B Luke Druken was no doubt the biggest winner among underclassmen and continues to gain momentum following this summer’s Future Games. The arm immediately stood out on the infield with arm speed and throws up to 82mph. The fastball sat 81-82mph with run and nothing but strikes. The curveball is tight with more horizontal action at 68-69mph and there’s feel for the changeup at 75-77mph. Druken continues to show well each time out and has the makings of Newfoundland’s next big arm. Also had one of the best showings on the Swift Jump Mat. Will be fun to watch him continue to develop over the next 2-3 years.
