Long arm, Tends to wrap ball behind head, Slightly open stance, High hands, Long swing with average bat speed, Upward tilt, Needs to use lower half consistently
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Wojciechowski stands a towering 6-foot-4, pushing 190-pounds yet still able to hold more positive weight, ideal new-age size for catchers. At the plate, he uses an upright stance, back load and small stride for timing on the pitch. Hands drop to the contact zone, short and repeatable swing, barrel path is mostly level with a high extended finish, 88 mph exit velocity showing advanced bat-speed with power projections. Behind the dish, although his 60-time is a 7.86, his footwork behind the plate appear faster, hands are soft with the transfer to his hand consistently clean. Arm-strength was up from his last event now peaking 75, continued work will see the pop time down near the 2.0 mark this summer. Nice looking prospect behind the dish from WNY.
WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2018)
Long a wiry at 6-foot-4 186 pounds with whippy actions. Offensively- Sets up even with a short take back of the hands off the shoulder and a quiet leg kick; stays behind the ball with an aggressive lower half. Showed some natural lift to his pull side with a late one-hand finish. Future power potential is there. Exit velocity peaked at 81 MPH. Defensively- Is able to compress his frame into a compact setup; can get to tall early in his release and lose valuable time while having his arm lag behind the body. Quick, snap like release with easy carry. Pop times ranged 2.13-2.21 with a peak arm strength of 71 MPH. Both numbers a shade under his previous best. Pitching- Fastball sat 75-77 MPH with some late arm side life from a low 3/4 slot. Works from the glove side of the rubber with a mid-chest balance point. Lands on his heel with some cross fire action into his release. Above average action to his change with late sink and arm side fade at 71-72 MPH. Slider effective when he stays on top in the 67-68 MPH range.
Campus Series-Buffalo (July 5, 2017)
Wojciechowski stands in a 6-foot-4, 180-pounds with a tall, strong, athletic frame. Ran a 5.14 home to first, shy of his previous best 4.55 set in January 2017. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher in a wide stance with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into the body to stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting his hips cleared and using his whole-body frame throughout the process of the swing. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage and line drive ability with potential power hitting to all fields. Clean, fluid swing with power potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH, a 1 MPH improvement from February 2017. Defensively- Frames pitches well keeping glove and body quiet. Good mechanics and footwork on throws down to second. Quick with his hands to get into the throwing motion with an appropriate catchers arm swing to throw downhill towards second, especially for a taller catcher. Athletic blocker with ability to get back up to his feet quickly to make the play. Solid defensive catcher. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 73 MPH and a pop time range of 2.08-2.19. Improved transfer from glove to hand will cut pop times down. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a simple side step into a high leg raise above the hip crease. Breaks down well with good separation into a mid-¾ release point. Could use more of the lower half and have a stiff front side. Still gets good rotation and is set up in a good fielding position. Fastball range was 76-78 MPH with arm side run. Change-up range was 70-71 MPH and needs more development with speed off the fastball, but shows good arm side sink. Slider range was 65-66 MPH with tight braking action. Overall athleticism may take him off the mound and create a C/1B/OF type role as a position player although shows good tempo and pace on the bump, versatile athlete.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Wojciechowski is a long and lean 6-foot-4 180 pound catcher who ran a 7.85. Offensively- Spread stance; short and controlled take back with an up-down stride. Stays behind the ball well with a short stroke into the zone; stays level throughout with a late one-handed finish. Line drives from LF line to pull side gap with some long term power potential. Plenty of levers and and room for physical gains that should help him reach that ceiling. Exit velocity off the tee was 82 MPH (up 2 MPH). Defensively- Compact, low to the ground setup. Can occasionally get upright with footwork and this would cause his arm to run away from his body with throws trailing off to the 2B side. When staying low throughout throws were spot on. Arm strength peaked at 71 MPH with throws in in the 2.08-2.22 range. Handles position well for his height.

WNY Travel Workout (January 16, 2017)

Wojciechowski has a long and lean frame at 6-foot-3, 178 pounds. Was timed from home to first base in 4.55 seconds. Offensively- Starts with a wide base and slight knee bend. Hands are just above shoulder height and close to body. Uses a lift and replace stride as hands load backwards. Hips are rotational through swing. Hand path is direct to ball. Top hand releases right after contact.  Swing plane is flat throughout with a low finish. Had an exit velocity of 80 MPH off of the tee. Defensively- Sets up with feet wide and weight low in his crouch. Long strides with feet that attack second base. Smooth transition from glove to hand with a short arm action. Had pop times in the 2.06-2.10 seconds with a velocity of 73 MPH. Chest remained a little upright on blocks but other technique looked proper.
