NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)

Athletic 6-foot-2, 175 pound right-hander with a pitcher’s build. Pitching - Uses height to create downward plane on fastball with arm-side run that explodes at the plate at 81-84 MPH, clean and loose arm action, short delivery creates perception of more velocity, tight shape on 1-to-7 curveball at 63-66 MPH, throws change-up at 74-76 MPH for strikes, just scratching the surface.

New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Van Fossen stands 6-foot-1, with a lean 165-pounds build. Offensively - mostly upright approach, front side leg lift and stride on the pitch, only a small back load. Barrel is flat through contact with full extension. Exit velocity was 82 mph (+9 MPH from Aug. 2015) showing signs of projectable bat-speed. Defensively - Active feet at the 1st base bag, stays behind the ball, receive the ball deeper into his body, short quick arm-action with 77 mph (+2 MPH/Aug. 2015) arm strength on his throws. Pitching - There's size and lean projection to dream on, velocity is not premium yet, but at 77-79 he's a hard 6-months in the weight room from added 3-5 mph. Pretty loose arm from a high-3/4 slot, curveball shows gradual break, more hand-speed will help that. Prospect to watch as he develops.
Southern Tier Open (August 5, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-0, 155 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 7.39 60 yard dash. Defensively- At first base looked good fielding through the ball and receiving throws from the position players, throws with a high 3/4 arm slot.  His arm strength was at 75 MPHOffensively-At the plate his setup is relaxed and balanced stance, short stride, with a dropping of hands load.  His hands are very compact, swinging on a level plane with extension through the ball finish shoulder high.  His exit velocity was 73 MPH.
