Physical: 5-11, 165 pounds; Slight, lean build. 7.54 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a late one hand finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders outside the hips. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly open. Long arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Hands work through the ball while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back while using various arm slots. INF - 82 MPH. Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders outside the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. 2/17/21
Physical: Lean, developing 5-foot-8, 130-pound frame with plenty of time to add strength and see tangible physical gains. 8.08 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty started from an upright, even position as the hands showed rhythm at the shoulder; utilized a leg lift stride while holding backside posture throughout the forward move, initiated the hands through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Recorded a 78 mph bat-exit velocity with gap to gap punch, staying mostly through the left side of the field with a feel for the top hand at impact. A 33% fly ball rate kept the ball in the air primarily aided by a 277 foot batted ball distance at the moment. Interesting 75% on-plane efficiency according to Blast Motion, showing off already present bat to ball skills at the plate.
Defensively: The primary shortstop flashed active footwork on the approach so that he could work right to left with intent at the fielding window; got the chest downhill on time creating momentum towards the target, adequate pace and an accurate high ¾ slot on throws across the diamond (71 mph). Will stay at second base for the moment, but the actions should play at a nice level down the line.
